One step at a time

All writers, regardless of their need to experiment, will return to a genre they feel sits best within their particular skill set. For me, that’s science fiction, especially the supernatural variety. I wrote and published a novel entitled the Conduit and it wasn’t until I had finished this particular story that I realised I wanted to explore one of the characters further. James Pearson will always be a favourite of mine, so finishing the second in what will no doubt become a series was an achievement. The new tale is also dedicated to a good friend of mine, so it has added value from a personal viewpoint. Mixed Messages is not quite ready for publication, even though I have started on the bones of a third novel, loosely titled Benjamin. I am still working on James’ second tale, and will continue to do so until I get it right.

At the same time, and here is where I go wrong, I got the bug for thriller writing. I tried it out with a novel I am currently looking to publish, entitled Sins of the Father. This book follows a team of professionals whose main role is security. The company, Morgan and Fairchild, has a team of eight – all of whom I am very attached to. Sins of the Father follows Brad Morgan’s case (a synopsis of which I will add to a new post).

I am trying to concentrate on one novel at a time, though it is difficult as all the characters are in my head and looking for a chance to get out. One thing I can do is deal with them one at a time within my posts – well except for this one, which I’m sure is getting pretty confusing by now!

I will explore Sins of the Father in my next addition to this daily blog, so that you get to know the delightful Brad Morgan, who has actually waited patiently for his story to be told.

That’s it for now.
Until next time.

I'd love to hear from you.
