Writer’s Quote Wednesday – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

051815_2029_writersquot1

Writer’s Quote Wednesday is organised by Colleen from Silver Threading, and is a wonderful weekly series in which bloggers share the quotes which inspire them. I highly recommend checking them out.

My quote today is by French philosopher, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, and I think it speaks for itself. I actually found the quote in Dean Koontz’s latest novel, Watchers. I love Koontz’s work, and found Watchers both thrilling and terrifying in equal measure! Having said that, the underlying theme, the message I took away from the novel is one of love – in all its guises. The quote fit perfectly, as it encompasses the very heart of the story. It also reflects that which connects us all.

Wow, Mel. What a glorious quote. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤ ❤ ❤

Here’s me, wondering when that evolved in man. Great apes maybe have that ‘love’, but it’s hard to tell. Their actions say maybe. But which species put it front and center and how important is it? These are the things that keep me awake at night, Mel.

I think we’ve always had the capacity, Jacqui – it’s what binds us – in my opinion. I also think there’s evidence of love in all species. But, yeah – if we’re talking philosophy, and indeed evolution, we could be here long into the night! Thanks for sharing your views. I think you would really enjoy Watchers 😀

A wonderful choice. Thanks for sharing it 🙂

That’s an awesome line, you’re right! I thought I was getting the whole quote from Facebook for weeks… I was totally missing out on the writerly quotes inside! Now I know better. 🙂

Hello Mel! What a beautiful quote! It gave me goosebumps. ❤

“By what is deepest in themselves”…love this line! Thanks for sharing.
