It’s time,Β thanks to Cee’s weekly prompt, to Share My World again.
For your blog do you basically use Windows or Mac, laptop, desktop, pad, or phone?
Iβd love to own a Mac, but by the time I get around to buying one I probably wonβt have a clue what to do with it! I use Windows. It seems Iβm spending more and more time glued to my trusty PC.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a journalist and then I experienced life at a newspaper during college and changed my mind. Iβve always been a writer, itβs who I am, but Iβve skirted around various professions. Though it pains me to say it, I can be a little fickle. I started various routes in terms of training when I left full-time education and never spent more than a few years in any particular field. Interpreting stuck, or it has so far. Iβve been itching to do something new for a while, and one of these days Iβll make the jump.
Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?
I grew up in a mining town, the kind of town people want to leave and those on the outside enjoy making fun of β especially the accent. But it was my home for a while and I thrived there. When people ask me where Iβm from, Barnsley is the first thing that pops into my head, though I havenβt lived there for many years. Iβm proud of my roots.
How old would you be if you didnβt know how old you are?
It depends when you ask the question. Most days I feel like a teenager, so you can image my shock when I look in the mirror!
Β Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Iβm grateful for my sanity! Iβm in the middle of moving house, organising schools for my girls, taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo and fitting that around work and a general despondency!
So, in the coming week, Iβm looking forward to a few family daytrips where I can soak up the sunshine and celebrate my birthday.
Until next time. Thanks for reading.
Mel
