Writing Room

A fellow blogger commented recently, that they would take part in the prompt series if non-fiction was on the menu.

I’ve therefore created a new weekly prompt, which I have temporarily entitled Featured Articles. I haven’t developed an image to go along with this yet, or created a page. I wanted to gain feedback on the name, and open it up for suggestions. You’ll find a poll at the end of the post, where you can express your views.

In the meantime, here is this weeks prompt:

Movers and Shakers

We’ve all experienced the trauma of moving house. It’s up there on the top ten list of most stressful life events. If it’s not packing your whole life into a box, it’s entrusting that ‘box’ to relative strangers (unless you use actual relatives, and that brings its own set of problems!) Then there’s finding a place for the belongings in you new home, which can be fun if nothing is broken, missing or incomplete!

The prompt this week is all about the experience. You may have a funny tale to tell (you can laugh about it now), or a story that will rival any horror. Perhaps you have advice to give, or you’d like to entertain us with the facts about those who ‘up sticks’. There’s no limit as long as you follow the subject at hand.

Here are a few guidelines:

  1. Create a post based on the prompt and provide a pingback or link in the comments section.

  2. Any form of non-fiction is accepted.

  3. You can use the prompt in any way you see fit, as long as the post is based (loosely) on the topic.

Thanks in advance for your participation. If you have any ideas for the prompt, or would like to share your views on a title, please complete the poll below.

Thanks 🙂 I don’t want anyone to feel excluded, and why should the prompts be all about fiction! I appreciate your support.

I’d love to hear from you.
