This week’s challenge calls for a Deptwwwbeinspiredcuain. As described by Amreen at Paint the World with Words, here’s how to write a Decuain –

The Decuain is a short poem made up of 10 lines, which can be written on any subject. There are 10 syllables per line and the rhyming scheme can be either: ababbcbcaa; ababbcbcbb, or ababbcbccc.

Here is my contribution to this week’s challenge. I hope you enjoy it (you might want to click on the picture to enlarge the text).

A small victory

Thanks for reading.

I love the powerful punch that comes with that ending. The piece is lyrical and beautiful in its darkness; far more skilful than you would give yourself credit for.

Thanks, Callum. I struggled with this one, mainly because it echoes how I’m feeling right now. But if you recognise the potential, who am I to argue! Your poetry blows me away, so to have your respect is a precious thing indeed ๐Ÿ™‚

The struggle resonated as power, so I for one would say it was well worth it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Your writing has more than my respect; it also has my admiration.

I like that – resonated as power. I never thought of it that way. And as for your admiration, no words can express how much that means. I’m speechless, and that very rarely happens! Thanks for your support and encouragement.

That iambic pentameter provides such attraction, and is so hard to do well, and you managed it!! Well-done. It’s a picture of inner turmoil, on its way to clarity, which all of us can relate to. I like it!

Thanks so much. I’m thrilled you like it ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a little darker than my previous attempts and it means a lot that you think it worthy of the challenge, and that you understood what I was trying to do with it.
