Despite the dismal weather, the dark skies and freezing temperature, I’m feeling sunny this morning! It’s the first day of my new adventure – a round of words in 80 days (ROW80). I’m sure some of you will be wondering how I’m going to achieve such a feat – I mean, it involves setting goals. I actually have to plan for something. So you’ll be shocked to read the rest of this post because I actually have things in black and white! Make sure you’re sitting down because, here they are – my writing related goals for the next 80 days.
Blogging Goals
- Develop Author Spotlight Section at Writing Room 101
- Update the adventures of Lance Legion at least once per week
- Find a theme and update the layout for Nat Hobson (pen-name)
Writing Goals
New project (no title)
- Decide on title for new project!
- Write 8,000 words per week
Editing Goals
Fractured – Novella to form part of an anthology
- Edit 1 Chapter per week
ROW80 Sponsor duties
- Visit my group twice weekly
- Visit other ROW80 contributors as time permits
So there you have it, my goals (baby-steps, people!).
I’m really looking forward to my duties as a sponsor because it’s one of the things I love about blogging the most – supporting other writers. So, with that said – I look forward to spending time with you all 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
Mel
I admire you for taking on so much. Best of luck with it all 🙂
Thanks – much appreciated, as always 🙂
Welcome, welcome, welcome! =D
These seem like solid, attainable, fun goals to me! You’ve got this!
Thank you 🙂 Just what I needed to hear! It’s great motivation.
You’ll find lots of that, here!
They seem like great goals! You may be a sponsor, but consider optimistic Rachel your cheerleader! Goooooo Mel! 😀
lol – thanks so much 🙂 I’m buzzing with energy and enthusiasm. Positive and optimistic Rachel just made my day 😀
And that just made my day! 😀
Cool! I’ve actually never heard of the 80 day thing. What is it?
I’ve provided the link below so you can visit the site and learn all about it 🙂 It’s a writing challenge – a round of words in 80 days where people set goals for themselves and check in with each other. A supportive community and a focus to boot – fun right!
Thanks for commenting 🙂
I won’t do this this year, but maybe next. I need an inspiration for my fiction writing. Right now, I’m in the middle of non-fic series that I want to finish. I’ll be tracking your progress, Melissa!
Thanks, Jacqui. I feel pressure now! It would be great to see you in a future round. I appreciate the support 🙂
Hi, there! Nice to “meet” you, and best of luck with your ROW80 goals! Add another fellow writer to your cheerleading section… 🙂
Aw, thanks, Kristen – that’s lovely 🙂 It’s great to meet you too, and I look forward to catching up. You can count of me to have your back!
So glad you are joining in. the accountability factor really has helped me. Look forward to getting to know you better. Great goals by the way. I tend to write novellas as well. Is there a market?
I definitely think there’s a market for the novella. I’ve certainly noticed a trend. I look forward to getting to know you better too. Thanks for the feedback and your kind words of welcome 🙂
Great goals, Mel! Baby-steps all the way to the finish! I’m sure you’ll do just fine; you seem to have a large cheering section already. 😀
Thanks, Tammy. I feel blessed to be part of this diverse and wondrous group 🙂 I met some of the team by taking part in WIPpet Wednesday – best decision I ever made! Hope to catch up with you soon.
ROW80 definitely brings out the enthusiasm and support. Goals in black & white…that’s scary stuff. 😉
Tell me about it! No going back now…it’s a good thing I have you guys 🙂
Those are some impressive goals. Good luck!
Thanks, Ruth 🙂 You too.
Welcome to ROW80 & congrats on your goal-setting! I take it it’s out of your comfort zone to set goals? Your writing goals appear to be ambitious but achievable. And happy sponsoring! I too love connecting with and supporting other writers. =*)
Yes, I’m not a goal setter…I still have hives from yesterday! I do have them – in my head…so maybe I’m just afraid of commitment 😉 Thanks for the warm words of welcome – I hope to catch up with you soon.
Wow! You’ve set some pretty lofty goals! (And here I am, still thinking about the novel I was supposed to start during NaNoWriMo 2013, lol!) I hope you’re able to get through your list with ease. Good luck!
Thanks, Quanie 🙂 I appreciate the support.
Lots of nice, measurable goals. Good luck this round!
Thank you 🙂 You too!
